Habitat specialist Paul Knox and Dale Hager meet and greet at Woods-n-Water News Weekend Outdoor show.
The Lapeer County Chapter of Pheasants Forever was organized in 1992 ten years after the national organization started their campaign. Today the chapter has approximately 660 members throughout the state. That's right, many people that live outside of Lapeer County belong to Lapeer's Chapter. They may own a piece of property here, know someone else that does, or just enjoys our banquet. The chapter has grown by approx 100 members per year since the chapter reorganized in 1999. Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at the Lapeer County Sportsmans Club at 7:00pm in the Shotgun Room. The Lapeer County Sportsman's Club is located at 1227 N. Lake George Road, Attica, Michigan. All are welcome to attend even if they are not a member. Chapter business is always a priorty, but is finished quickly as there are many hunting and fishing stories to tell. The Lapeer Chapter is always looking for sportsmen and women to assist in the many activities we have throughout the year, We also always make sure we hold special events for those who work diligently for the chapter. Club shoots or preserve hunts are always planned and new members will certainly have opportunities to hunt chapter members habitat when you get to know each other. Contact a board member for more information on this wonderful organization that benifits all of our wild life, especially those gaudey, cackling, ringneck pheasants!

The Lapeer Chapter has its annual banquet in early March each year and has quickly become a very special event as it has become difficult to get tickets. Last year 50 people were turned away at the door! This is certainly a tribute to the hard work and organizational skills of Nathan and other chapter members. This year the annual banquet is scheduled for March 2nd and will be held at the Lapeer County Center Building. Drinks will start at 5:30 pm with a 7:00pm dinner with the live auction to immediately follow. We will auction and raffle the national banquet package as well as over 20 guns, several hunting trips and merchandise donated or bought by the chapter. Remember, all proceeds get planted into the groung that spring to benefit all wild life! |
